Wagn lets you watch cards, or even all cards of a given type. You get an email when other people change any of those cards.
Examples
Gerry is an active member of the Wagn community, and he wants to jump in and help when people need it. So he "watches" the Support Tickets to get notified when one is added or updated.
How To
If you're signed in and you hover your mouse over the footer of any card, you'll see this:
Click on the "watch" link and you'll be watching that card.
If you're on the Image card — or the card of another type, you'll see something like this:
Click on the link and you'll be watching all cards of that type.
Tips
- You can see which cards you're watching in the Related tab of your User card, and you can see who is watching any card by looking in the config subtab of its Related tab.
- Notification emails go to the address associated with your User card. You can change this address in the Options tab.
- If you are watching a card, and someone edits a card it includes (like +discussion), you will get a notification. This makes notifications work as expected for hard-formatted cards. (Note, only applies to relative inclusions).
- By default, notification emails will come from the email address associated with WagnBot, but you can override this by putting any address you like in *notify+*from. You can use email addresses of the form: Notifier <notifieraddress@domain> But for now you need to set the type of *notify+*from to HTML to keep wagn from filtering the < >
- Notifications are actually tracked by means of a card. For any card that has anyone watching it (or ever has), there is a |cardname|+*watchers card, which is a Pointer listing the people who are watching the card.
