Signup requirements differ from one Wagn to another.
New accounts on Wagn.org are activated only after they're approved by an existing member. If you'd like an account on Wagn.org, sign up. You'll receive an invitation with a password very soon, provided you appear sufficiently human.
On some other Wagns, like sandbox.wagn.org, you can sign up without waiting for approval. The password gets emailed to you automatically.
After you create your account and sign in, go to your personal card. You'll see it's mostly like any other card, though on Wagn.org we've added some custom formatting. We'll get to how to do that soon in one of the next steps.
You can change your password in the Options tab of your card.
Tips
- When you first sign up, you are creating an Account Request card. When your request is approved (whether automatically or by a person), it gets changed to a User card. These cards are often formatted differently, because while account requests have required signup information, User cards tend to be more like profile pages.
- "User" is not the only card type that can have accounts. For example, you might want to add a new type called "Company" or "Robot" and add accounts to those cards. There's a link to add accounts to almost any card in its Options tab.
The Wagn Way
One neat thing about Wagn is that information about account holders is kept in cards just like everything else. So you can edit, link to, and include users just like anything other card.
Another cool aspect is the fact that so much of the process is configurable. You can determine who can create accounts, who can administer them, whether approval is required, etc.
